Sonac
Sonac has the objective of adding the greatest possible value to slaughter by-products, which are
released during meat production and originate from animals approved for human consumption.
Sonac processes these animal raw materials into high-grade ingredients such as protein products,
fats, gelatins, binding agents, semi-finished ceramic components and calcium phosphates. One of
Sonac’s product ranges is blood plasma proteins. These proteins are derived from hygienically obtained and veterinary approved bovine and porcine blood. The blood is approved fit for human consumption by the veterinarian authorities. The blood is collected at EU approved slaughterhouses. Sonac is an autonomous group, part of the division Ingredients of the VION Food Group.
